This Saturday, May 11th head over for a really fun Mother’s Day event at Beckley Boutique hosted by Maya Brenner. Everything in the store will be 20% off including some of Maya’s most popular pieces like the letter necklaces, bracelets, earrings and state necklaces. It’s that time again!!! Head on over to your local fire station on Saturday, May 11th!!! Most will be open from 10 am to 4 pm. Find your local station here.
We love our local one Station #92 on Pico and Prosser but the Beverly Hills station pulls out all the stops!
From 1pm to 4 pm the Beverly Hills station will have live fire demonstrations, fire engine rides, educational programs, displays, and a special visit from the one-and-only Sparky the Fire Dog! Complimentary hot dogs and refreshments will be served by the Beverly Hills firefighters. The event will be held at the Civic Center Headquarters Fire Station.

I went to the Grand Opening of Sprouts and it was CRAZY busy but super efficient. I could have gone crazy there but didn’t…walked out buying just what I needed for $33. Here are some of my favorite things:
I loved the selection (and price) of the fresh herbs you can buy and keep in your kitchen!
Fresh baked muffins (still in the tin!), fresh selection of seafood, fresh shaved deli meats (and cheeses) so you don’t have to wait in line and an amazing selection of nuts!
Candy galore (more I didn’t photograph!), delicious looking ice creams, Rick Bayless’s Mexican flavors which I love and an entire vegan section

I am LOVING Pamela Salzman’s food lately. I made her version of her Butternut Squash and Chickpea Stew, not too different from my Hearty Chicken Stew I love; but this had a more of a Moroccan feel to it. I baked some chicken while this was cooking and voila, I had two meals in one. One vegetarian and one not (for hubby). Enjoy the recipe.
